The Power of Herbal Tinctures for Holistic Wellness | Immune boosting | Overall Wellbeing

Herbal extracts, also called tinctures, are one of the best ways to include herbal remedies in your emergency preparedness, daily immune boosts and simply overall wellness. Tinctures are concentrated and have a long shelf life- much longer than dried herbs or capsules. Like other preparations, though, extracts will need to be protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, otherwise they will degrade and become less potent.

I fell in love and started using tinctures on my own well before I had kids. My mom had cupboards FULL of homemade tinctures, extracts, etc. If you knew her or know me now, she was one of the most amazing herbal teachers when I was a baby, I on the other hand was known as the “herb baby”. My Mom taught her classes while she was nursing me, on her hip or asleep next to her. I enjoy going down memory lane and reading all her herbal note/research books and teaching them to my kids.

I started making my own tinctures to better my health, and my children’s health. Tinctures are easily tailored to each child and how they like the taste.
